Worship & Music

Service Times

Weekdays:

9:00 am Silent contemplation
9:30 am Morning Prayer
The morning office is a short service when we are able to listen to the great stories of the bible each as the unravel. We say the appointed psalms of the day and we pray for the world, our local community and for one another.

Sunday:

8:00 am Holy Eucharist (with traditional language), Common Worship.
This is a said service with a sermon but without hymns. It lasts for about 40 minutes and takes place in the Lady Chapel.
10:00 am Holy Eucharist, Common Worship.
This is the parish celebration of our Lord’s Day of Resurrection which is also the Sabbath Day, the day of rest and recreation, a day of play! The parish Eucharist is a devotion of play and worship. The choir sings and accompanies the rest of the congregation as we offer to God ourselves to his service. The Eucharist lasts for just over one hour. Refreshments are served at the end of the service.
6:30 pm Taizé Prayer (from September – July)
This is a meditative service using the chants from Taizé, as well as silence. The Lady Chapel is beautifully decorated with candlelight and icons.

Thursday:

10:00 am Holy Eucharist (with traditional language), Common Worship.
This is a short but beautiful service which takes about 35 minutes after which we all retire to the vestry for a coffee and a chat. On the first Thursday of each month a liturgy of healing takes place within the context of the Eucharist, including the laying on of hands and the anointing of oil for the sick.
