The Week Ahead
Children & Families
Sunday Worship
On Sundays young families are invited to sit in or around the north aisle where quiet activities are provided. Soft toys can also be found in this area which constitutes a mini crèche.
The older children 4-11 gather at the nave altar after the Collect. They receive symbols of Christian worship – a candle, a bible and a cross – with which they process out of the nave and into their own sacred space using these symbols for their own time of nurture and worship.
A dedicated group of people facilitate the Children's Church. They use resources which take into account the times and seasons of the Church.
Children are fully involved during the All Age Eucharists which take place on the first Sunday of the month. They are invited to sit on the storytelling rug on the Chancel steps in order to listen and respond to the presentation. The St Michael's Choristers sing at this service with voices ranging from 4-11, the children having rehearsed together each Thursday evening (5.20pm).
