Ukrainian Friendship Centre
The Friendship Centre for our Ukrainian guests is still going strong with 40-50 coming each week to be welcomed by our never-failing cohort of volunteers. Language lessons, a library, a help desk, toys for children, good second-hand clothing, a gift table, food and drink including light lunches are available each week. But we are running out of money! Our costs are not high but we have a weekly food bill (despite gifts, of lovely cakes for example) and we make a modest contribution to the church towards energy bills and upkeep. We have had grants in the past and will apply again. Meanwhile if you can help us we'd be more than grateful. Please speak to Emma or to me. £500 should see us through into next year. Michael
