In 2002 he became a Senior Fellow of the King's Fund and he has just stepped down as Head of System Leadership for the NHS Leadership Academy to run his own company, Humanum.

The Revd Alyson Peberdy
The Revd Alyson Peberdy

Alyson recently retired from 17 years as vicar of St Saviour, Brockley Hill, Lewisham, following a curacy in Windsor Team Ministry.

Before studying on the Oxford Ministry Course her academic background was in Sociology and Anthropology (Durham, Reading and St Antony’s Oxford) and she was for ten years research fellow and lecturer in Health and Social Welfare at the Open University. She has also taught in Nigeria, and in Papua New Guinea researched the relationship between indigenous and western medicine. More recently she studied Systematic Theology at King’s London, writing her M.A. dissertation on "Trinity and Inter-faith Encounter".

She has a strong interest in social justice and Community Organising, is a volunteer with Refugee Resource, an honorary Chaplain at Ripon College Cuddesdon and chair of the MB Reckitt Trust. She enjoys walking, poetry, exploring new ideas and being with husband Max, children Morag and Conrad and grandsons Alexander and Felix.

The Revd Mary Gurr
The Revd Mary Gurr

Mary was born in London during the war (WW2 in case you were wondering). Prior to ordination she worked for Yellow Pages and Courage the brewers. She served her title at Easthampstead, Bracknell and was latterly vicar of St Anne's and St Peter's High Wycombe.

She retired in 2009 and moved to Oxford. She quickly fulfilled two of her retirement ambitions: to have an allotment and work with the homeless, having experienced such work at two successive winters with Crisis at Christmas in London. She is Chaplain to the homeless in Oxford and founded and is chair of trustees of the Oxford Winter Night Shelter.

She is now busy working on the new OWNS project, the Living Room, a day centre which will cater for homeless people who will benefit from an intimate atmosphere, and where they can have a shower, wash their clothes and use a computer.

Her husband Mike died in 1993 after a long illness. Their offspring are Ben, Emma and Jake; between them they have produced 6 grandchildren: all girls. Precious time spent with my family, good conversation with friends, laughter, eating, drinking (preferably wine), opera and holidays are her pleasures.
