Church services resuming.

Public worship is resuming at St Michael & All Angels, Summertown.

  • 08:00 am Holy Eucharist (Traditional Language). This will be celebrated each Sunday from the High Altar - the congregation will be invited to sit in the choir stalls. We will ensure that everyone is distanced appropriately.

  • 10:00 am Parish Eucharist (Common Worship). This will be streamed live with shielded members of our community participating in the service with readings and prayers. We will use the Nave Altar with the congregation gathered in the Nave.

IMPORTANT NOTICE! [for those attending in person]

Many of the questions being asked around the return to church worship are answered on this Covid-19 leaflet.

Please also bring a pen for the track and trace register which we will take before the service. If you prefer, you can download and complete the form at home and simply give it to the welcomer at the church entrance - the narthex.

There will be a plate for your offering (if you don't already give regularly by other means).

St Michael & All Angels, Summertown continues to be open for private prayer.

You are welcome to use the space to pray in silence, to light a candle, to reflect upon these strange times. If you need further pastoral assistance, please contact Gavin Knight, the vicar. Leaflets will be available with prayers and contact information. Welcomers will be on site to make your visit safe and contained.

The church will be open at the following times:

  • Monday - Wednesday 10am - 2pm.
  • Saturday - Sunday 10am - 2pm.

Please enter the church via the south door. A toilet will be available if required.

Welcome to St Michael & All Angels'

Values

The Church of St Michael & All Angels serves the Parish of Summertown and Cutteslowe through the integration of these theological values:
Creativity – God creates humanity from his own image. We are creative beings and our creativity forms the purpose of our lives of faith.
View of the Lady Chapel
Community – God is community. The story of God and his people encourages us to build relationships in communities of trust.
Calling – God calls his whole creation to a life of wonder and exploration. We understand that God offers us fulfilment through the service of others.
