Concerts and Recordings at St Michael’s
St Michael's for Concerts and Recordings
St Michael's has excellent accoustics and is used frequently for concerts and recordings. If you would be interested to find out availability or discuss costs, please contact our Spaces Manager Ali Jones (bookings@stmaa.org.uk) for further information.
Musical community endorsements
"Many thanks for the use of the church. It was a lovely occasion and great community atmosphere. We had people coming from near and far – a particularly good Victoria Road presence, as well as a couple from Lincolnshire (on an anniversary weekend break) and from Abingdon. The "in the round" set-up went down really well.

"St Michael and All Angels is the Oxford Studio Orchestra's preferred venue. The size and acoustic are good for our concerts and the church staff are always very helpful."
Bill Manville, Secretary
Oxford Studio Orchestra
"As concert manager for the Summertown Choral Society, I know that our 125 members delight in singing at St Michael's, both for its acoustic and its ambience."
Sir Clive Booth
"The Choir of New College has made numerous recordings in the Church of St Michael's, Summertown. Everybody involved appreciated its balanced and inviting acoustic, and surprisingly quiet ambiance."
Edward Higginbottom
Emeritus Professor of Choral Music
University of Oxford
"Signum Records has been recording at St Michael & All Angels, Summertown for many years. It is a wonderful recording space. We have recorded solo piano, string quartets, singers, vocal ensembles and choirs there and the results are tremendous."
Steve Long, Signum Records
"St Michael's understands our industry needs and wants and are already full able to support a wide range of projects.
[The new extension] will make the church a highly desirable performance
and recording venue in a prime location without having to compromise any of the spiritual community services …
the venue of choice for many recording companies and artists."
